Our Favourite Things

There are so many great places to go in Lincoln and Lincolnshire. And we are glad of the friendships we have with the people of this county that make life so rich and rewarding. We’ve asked our church community to pick “some of their favourite things” about Lincoln.

Watch this space as we add more!...meanwhile check out the Love Lincoln website...

Maria's 'Favourite Things'

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

Cafes

Starbucks and Café Nero are the big name favourites.

We also love quaint Stokes Cafe (pictured), cool Café Zoot, and veggie options at Pimento Tea Rooms.

Not to mention a few others up Steep Hill!

For a quick chat after church we often frequent Sainsbury’s café…

Ice-Cream

Daisy Made on the edge of town towards Skellingthorpe has loads of fresh dairy ice-cream and interesting flavours. Not to mention you can play Mini-golf!

The Ice-cream Parlour in the Bailgate has posh ices, too!

Restaurants

“Saturday Night Seven” is a treat at Doddington Hall Farm Shop Restaurant

Chimichanga’s is the classic Mexican and the Thai food at Thai One On is great.

For a special occasion, Harbour City on Burton Waters makes Chinese cuisine to savour.

Damon’s serves extraordinary ribs!...
